trim removing
Slide tip gap covers up, down, or over exposing end gaps between brite trim pieces. There are 4 gap covers, one each @ "A" Pillar, one on top, and one on bottom. Since I replace gaskets when I do this sort of stuff, I cut the old gasket, along the outer or glass side, all the way to the trim piece and then pull out the rubber strip I just cut loose. Next I use soapy water or WD-40 to lube stuff. It will clean up and is better than looking for new trim pieces. Ease trim pieces out of their bedding groove being careful not to bend, distort or kink them as you go along working them up and out of the groove.
I disagree with just pulling them out of their gasket's seating groove.
Again remember Haste Makes Waste.
The drip rail trim snaps on top down so it should snap off bottom up, BUT after years of accumulated dirt, grime, dust & such you will most likely have to coax them off by gently prising up from the bottom @ front and working towards the rear, using a wide blade, rather that a point or a pick type blade, until you can actually snap them loose and off.
Sometimes slathering gutter edge with WD-40 or soapy water helps loosen the krud under & inside them. But be careful they are light weight steel and will kink & dimple very easily. Just take your time & gently work them loose using a slight twisting motion, again working towards the rear, until they pop off. Reverse this to reinstall rail trim.
