Chip Compatibility

I have a 2002 PSD F250SD 4x4 automatic. My buddy just sold his 1999 PSD F350SD automatic. Anyway he gave me his chip. With these trucks having the same motor and transmission, Do I have to have the chip re-burned to work in my truck??

Chip Compatibility

If they share same ECU code you can swap them, otherwise you can't. Odds are not in your favor that they will swap since there are many ECU codes.
