While doing a tranny service on my 1989 F-150, 302 w/AOD tranny, I found an off-white plunger-type item laying in the pan. It's bulbous with an o-ring gasket on it.
Does anyone know where this is supposed to be?? I am right in the middle of the servicing and its starting to show signs of rain. (no garage)
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated soonest...
no it is some thing they leave in there from the factory, just toss it . it means know one has ever serviced the trainsmition. good thing you are doing it.
Having never drained a tc before, is it a wise idea to add a few quarts of fluid to tranny, start truck to circulate, then add more? Dont want to blow anything up.
