Tri-carb question?

Anyone ever run a tri-carb. I have aquired a manifold and carbs (seperate source). I run a 292 and do not know what jet# I should go with. The carbs are matched set for tri-power, but who know about how the jetting will work. The carbs still need rebuilt and I need to get a fuel line to power all 3. Any ideas would be great thanks Kurt G.

About the best thing you could do is install them, get the motor running and take it to a garage that has a meter that will read air/fuel ratio. They can tell you without a lot of trial and error if you are running rich or lean. That may get expensive depending on how much tuning you need to do.
They can use a meter such as this one that you could buy, use then resell at a later time to get part of your money back.

I actually bought one to use on my 226 flathead 6 cylinder motor. It has three 1 barrels. I also used it to tune my motorcycle, I got tired of taking out spark plugs.

If the Carbs are unmolested, the Jets are in the Ballpark. They are sized for the CFM of each Carb. So you are simply introducing more volume of the same Air/Fuel Ratio into the Engine. That being said, single Carbs are generally calibrated slightly rich. So three of them may be a bit much. Every application is different.

As suggested, those Meters are great. I'd install it with a fresh set of plugs. Check for any obvious signs of rich/lean condition and if it runs decent, do a plug check in a few days. If you re-Jet, don't make radical changes. Sneak up on the direction you go. TAKE NOTES after each run. You'd be surprised how quick you can get confused. When I'm in this process, I write the Jet size on the Carb with a sharpie. When I change, I remove the mark with Laquer Thinner and enter the new number.

If you have access to a chassis dyno that can sniff your exhaust, even better. As I recall, you'd like to achieve about a 13:1 Ratio.

3 carb setup

In 1960 I had a Impala with a 348 CID, 3 two's, 3/4 cam and a corvette 4 speed. The center carb was normally used with the other two on acceleration. A progressive setup. The only problems I had was I had to use high test gas for it to run well. Looked bitchin. Ran like a rapid ape in a drag. Have a great day, chuck
