I have a 90 Bronco with 302 and added a H.O. cam it runs ok but I have problems with it stalling or surgeing at idle will this be helped by adding a chip or is mass air my only fix.

I only had the Bronco for a couple of days before i had engine installed but I never noticed it doing this before the install.
The scanners keep showing a fault for o2 sensor but I have replaced it three times to make sure it wasnt sensor someone told me it is getting this fault because the fuel mixture is lean because the injectors are still putting fuel based on old cam and new cam is drawing more air so it is lean .
A custom chip can be programmed for this, but it costs about 40% more for a custom chip. Depending on whether you can get the parts cheaply to convert, it may be better to do so. However, keep in mind that mass air may not solve your program --- you may still need a custom chip with that cam and mass air. Its pot luck, you wouldn't know until you tried it.

How much would a custom chip cost me $200 or $300 it would be cheaper than conversion from what I've seen it would be $800 to $1000 just for parts
