Battery isolator
I am having a helluva time getting my new setup to work: installing a dual battery on my 92 F150, 351W with a SurePower battery isolator.
My main battery is an Optima. My second battery is a Bosch. When all was said and done, my main battery is used for starting and my second battery is used to power everything else.
Well the truck started the first time and after that it blew out my MSD (6A) ignition box, so I had to bypass that. Have no idea why that happened but it might have been because I had forgot to connect the voltage regulator wire, so I may have had too many volts passing in the wires.
So I have been doing some testing with the system and now it seems my main battery is dead and won't start the truck.
Has anyone had success in installing one of these isolators? Its frustrating.
