long cold start

Hello this is my first post here.I have a 94 f-150 2wd 300 6cyl that when cold(not outside temp) but after it has been off for more than about 2 hrs. it takes a long time to start. It cranks over just fine but wont start.I have tried cycling the key to get fuel pump to run and no luck.sometimes I will have to try to start it serveral times(15-20x) sometimes only 3or 4x.fuel and air filters are new plugs less than a year old. The truck has 160,000miles on it.I have not pulled any codes yet.after I changed the fuel filter I noticed that the cel has come on acouple times but it allways goes off after a minute or so.I hoping to get a good starting point to go fromm.Any help is much apprieciated.

Hi. I really can't tell from your story but I get a feeling that you should put a fuel pressure gauge on it and watch it after you turn off the engine. It should hold pressure for a very long time. If the pressure bleeds off fairly quickly it could be that the injectors are leaking fuel into the engine and flooding it. If the pressure bleeds down too fast it can be injectors leaking and there's other things it could be too. I don't know where the check valves are on yours but they could be the culprit too. Leaky hoses etc.
Some systems have a clear flood mode when the accelerator is pressed all the way down and held there until it starts.
A better description of symptoms would be great. Anything that you can get to repeat everytime.
