Fast idle?

Fast idle?
Okay my next fix it, After truck(1984 302) warms up I can not get it to come off of fast idle and choke plate seems half closed. This truck only has 68000 reall miles on it and is bone stock org.I know i need to go to library and get a manual for this truck. If any body has a hint what I should look for it would be of great help. later, J W Miller

Take the aircleaner off, and look on the passenger side of the carb. There should be a large round black thing. Loosen the screws, and turn the black cover in the "leaner" direction, or if the truck is warmed up and running, turn it and blip the throttle till the choke plate stands up vertical.

Check to if there's a wire coming from the choke housing, and make sure the wire is connected at both ends...you should have an electric assist choke and it might not be heating up enough to take tension off the choke spring.

Thanks for advice to all. Been awhile since i have had to mess with choke settings.Thanks to you all now it all comes back to me.Should be easey fix even if something in choke mech needs to be replaced.J W Miller

well as Dave said adjusting choke my did the same thing but i also wd it really really good works fine now for me hope it works for you!! might take a few times to get it done right but keep on trying and make sure the 3 screws are tighten back..lol
