has anyopne around here ever heard of Northside Engine Rebuilders. If so are they any good. Im thinking about going in to get them to look at my flatty
never heard of them, but i'm not there. i know our local Parkland engine rebuilders are supposed to be real good, but that doesn't help you unless you come to yorkton...
North Side is ok i think. It`s been a long time since I had any work done there and it`s changed hands since.
Why go there though, they are engine rebuilders, wouldn`t you be better off to go to a repair shop? I suppose they can have a look as well as any one else.
On the other hand it isn`t too hard to put a master oil pressure gauge and check it out it yourself to save some $$$$.
I drove by about 7 pm tonite Chris on the way to another job and didn`t see anyone outside so I didn`t stop by.
A lot of the times a poor ground is the cause of lights not working, of course always check the bulbs first and for loose/corroded connections.
so far ive got like 10 different butt connectors in those lines, the bulbs are ok, i got good ground in the tail lights, a new stop light switch and so its prolly a break or bad connection in a but connector or something. I just need to get signals now and im good, but i think im still going to replace the wire and do it propperly instead of the way whoever did the wireing on the truck before i got it
well i got brake lights now and driver side park lights and passenger side turn signals. I dont know what the heck this guy was thinking when he wired this thing.
Northside rebuilders are on Faithful and 45th st. I had a cyl. head done there and it cost me 500 for one cyl head. I got ripped. So I went back to Warman automotive. They did cylinder heads for 200 to 300. They have always done good workmanship and resonable prices.
They have done lots of older engines like the flattie and old gm engines. Its a bunch of brothers who own the business. They started out doing engines in their barn and now built a nice new shop.
So when your ready to rebuild, give them a call and see what they say. The other thing is their overhead is lower than Northsides, so they can pass that on also.
thanks Glen, I have to hook a mechanical pressure guage first, but if its still bunk then im gonna look into Warman automotive. The only reason i knew of Northside is they did the display flathead in Princess auto. If thats the case maybe ill buy some nice finned heads while the block is being rebuilt, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
