I was really considering just foregoing the high mount pump and going to an electric fan but now I'll have the correct fan mount and crank pulley (Thanks to Kevin !!) I'll be using my (new) high mount pump.....

It wasn't very expensive though...... You will have to forfeit the core charge if you do not have a core to send back. ($10)

I think you'll want the A1 Cardone #58233 that's the one I have....

I am looking to rebuild a water pump for a 1956 F 600 High fan mount water pump 1956 Ford F600
The shaft is .625 in dia and 5.625 in long The bearing is 1.180 in dia and 1.532 in long and is located 1.585 inches from the pulley end.
The large diameter of the seal measures about 1.75 inches dia and the small diameter 1.470 in dia
Casting number is EBV8505-D The block casting number is ECG Dearborn casting. 272 Cu In Y block
Note the water bypass (image 1822) on the back of the pump. The side water bypass is plugged with a pipe plug. out the other side is a pipe about 4 inches long.

Water Pump - Need used high fan mount for 55

I am looking for a high fan mount water pump to have rebuilt. These are obsolete and no rebuilts are available anywhere. You know what they are if you have one. Please - no advise - I could write a book about them. Cardone is the main supplier of rebuilts Pt #58-233. They were common on Y-blocks from '54 - '56. Thanks for the help. Rich

Well I don't have one, but I ran through that recently. I actually had mine and was able to get it rebuilt.
I even called Cardone since they had the pump on their website. At that time they said that it wasn't obsolete but that they just didn't have any at the moment. After they wouldn't give me a date they would have them, I told them that they never would and they should know since they build them. It looks like now the search doesn't go back that far. It stops at 1956.

Hopefully you can find one. Good luck on your search.

Thanks Joe, Since they don't make em anymore and they ran out of cores, the only way to get one is to pull one off an engine that isn't going to be used or find one laying around. I am trying to avoid reconfiguring to use the readily available non-high fan mount water pumps and still hold some hope some one has one the can give up.

If you have an old one they are pretty easy to rebuild. I just rebuilt mine successfully.

Here are some shots from the parts catalog. I shipped mine off and he had no problems rebuilding it. He just pulled the seals and such from what he had on hand in his shop.

I'll recommend a call to Commercial Water Pump Rebuilders in Houston, TX. I spoke with John Hudson. (713) 864-5199
He had me text him a picture of my pump to be sure of what I needed. That picture was sufficient for him to know exactly what it was. It takes a different bearing from the other pumps, and I had a very hard time finding them until I called John. They trimmed the shaft on an off-the-shelf bearing to fit my needs and sold me a rebuild kit for a very reasonable price. It has a new style seal that is an improvement over the older designs.
They will also rebuild your pump if you ship it to them.
I will gladly do business with them again.

Where did you see that? It looks like they have the 272 water pump but I couldn't find the 239 high fan mount water pump.
Or did you mean they would rebuild your core for you?

I'd be real careful to make certain that it was the right one prior to sending a core off. It might be really hard (nigh on impossible) to get it back if they sent the wrong one. I'm just sayin'..

You are right so please check really close. They are hard to find new.
I did not have any seen problems and my pump is running great!
