fuel problem
Im having a fuel delivery problem on my '78 f250 w/460..Installed new fuel pump, but still fuel filter between fuel pump and carb is getting very little fuel..Blew the lines out before I installed the pump, and it seemed to help,lots o fuel, but then very little fuel in filter. Im thinking crud in the tank is clogging the line..Where can I find a replacement tank for it(has duels)? Thanks again..

I also replaced the rubber line between fuel pump and main tank line(about 8" long 3/8 id) It was really soft and I thought it my be compressing due to pump vacuum.. I tried switching between the tanks but seems to do it on both.. I will add a bit more fuel to the aux tank and retry..Thanks again

Hello, I did replace the fuel line(both rubber)...After I replaced the fuel pump and lower rubber line, I had plenty of gas in the clear plastic fuel filter, it was completely full. After about 15 min of running(down the street and back) it seemed fine.. About 30 min later I went to restart is, ran for a bit then died..I looked an the filter and it was dry, with just a small trickle going into the filter,not like before completely full ,now nothing in the filter..I switch back and forth between the tanks(main has13 gal fresh gas, 2 days ago) and aux has about 5 (and the gauge is working also). Does anyone have a fuel diagram of the tanks, switch and lines the can send me?Mabe there is a clog at the tank switch(fuel line)...Any help is appreciated....Paul

i've chased fuel problems the same. you may have a pin hole in a line somewhere. they are tough to find because they only leak, (if at all) when the truck runs. sometimes its so small you can't even see it unless you look really close. try checking the fittings at the hose clamps and line unions.

Hello, and thanks.. Your talking about the rubber lines right? I guess I should replace the ones back by the tanks also... Also when I installed the new fuel pump, it was hard to get to line up with the 2 bolts holes in the block..Just seemed like you had to push up with some force to get everything aligned(like a lot of downward pressure on the lever arm) Thought it might be diff. than the old one but it(old one) was just as hard to get to re-line up also(hope thats a somewhat clear).. Thanks again for everyones help...These small things just ruin your day(s)....Paul

Is the fuel line in the diagram mrked #9324 On main tank) just a standard lenght of 3/8 hose or is it pre bent?
