why the computer code for chip purchase??
Thought about buying a super chip for a 93 f150 off ebay. But if I need a chip programed for my exact truck then it would not be wise to buy off a auction. Thank's for the help Rog

Its needed because Ford produced dozens of different computer hardware revisions and hundreds of code revisions. Just like you need Macintosh program for a Macintosh, a PC program for a PC, a Linux program for Linux, etc., so you must have the correct program for the computer in your truck. The odds are that two trucks with the same year, engine, model, etc. will not have the same code....
