Too many miles.
I have a 97 Explorer - 127,000 miles. Ken has my chip aws we speak. As soon as I get it back from him - it's going right back in the truck... I wouldn't worry any about the chip. If you are the type to maintain a motor (oil changes, belts, etc) then you should have no problems.
Ken has my chip recalibrating it for me to match the supercharger and other toys that are going to get installed this weekend
