I'll have to find a section to start a "Craziest Buyer Experiences" thread somewhere.

Oh well, if I don't get this one, I'm sure there are a few more out there to choose from.

Well, it looks like I'm still truckless. Here's the rest of the story:
The truck is kind of a beater, but not too bad. The guy is selling it because he can't get the hydraulic clutch to work. I went to look at it figuring I would eventually figure it out. It wouldn't be my daily driver, so I wouldn't be in a hurry. As I find out later, the catch is that the owner has a DUI which means he has to have a breathalyzer tied into the ignition of any vehicle he operates. By law he can't remove it and he let the activation expire so now he can't start it, either. In order to sell it to me, he has to have it removed by the private vendor. This means he has to pay to have it towed to the vendor (about 40 miles) AND pay the vendor $300 to have it removed plus get his replacement vehicle to the vendor to have the device installed so he can drive it.
He has decided that he can't afford to sell it for the original price he listed on line, so I have given up. I can't blame him for wanting more, but I think he should have thought this out a little more completely before listing it.
The search goes on!
