I was reading an article about horsepower from a 7.3L PSD and it said that it was 220 horse.. Is this true?? If not, then what is the HP and what should it be,approx range, since I have added an AFE stage 1 and a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust system..I know that I have picked up a bit over a mpg towing and a couple mpg around town.. I am planning a long non-towing freeway trip to see what I get that way..
I always thought that these things were supposed to be in the 300hp range..
A stock 2001 Excursion with the PSD option came standard with 250 hp and 505 ft/lbs torque. At the wheels, its more like 215 hp and 425 torque. With your mods it should be about where the stock numbers are if not slightly lower.
I agree with toreador. You are probably sitting right at true stock numbers at the wheeel now. If you really want a quick bump up then go with a chip. You will definately notice the diffewrence but will also notice your diesl evaporating when you get on it. It will increase your gas milegage on long hauls though.
10K refers to the size of resistor in the mod a 10KOhm, not the cost. LOL
yeah 10k dollars would be a little high. the resistor alone is about 13 cents.
if you built the nice mod like i suggested, it might, MIGHT cost you 10 dollars in materials, that includes the relay, switch, Potentiometer, and resistors.
