Love the powdercoating!!

So I scored a 2nd set of the original 5-slot wheels for a case of beer (Budweiser no less!!) and got that new aluminum diff cover for the 08's, so I dropped all that off to get powdercoated today. I'll get the diff cover back tomorrow and post some pics, then the wheels when i get them.

I loves me some powdercoatin'!!! I'm wondering what others have had 'coated for their mule. Pics anyone?

Well not yet, (pics). I have just reinstalled the nerf bars the other day after powder coating. I was not ecstatic about the results but it was definately better than I could have done with a can. Besides, they sandblasted them. Problem is, it is a new shop and when I went to pick them up, one of the bars was laid across patio furniture. It had scratches from that and the guy offered to touch up but I was done. Took them as was and never looked back. I hope they improve their practice.

Post hehehe!!

I dropped my wheels & diff cover off on Wednesday, and got the diff cover back yesterday (wheels on Monday). Man is it SWEET!!!! The aluminum finish just looked too... blech... to me. I'm not in to flashy stuff either, but I like to keep things looking good. So here it is:

I'm sure someone will cry "Blasphemy!" but oh well, I don't do the church this so I'm not worried! This weekend is the fluid change & cover swap, and then I'll see how ugly my rear axle is...

Out of curiosity, how much were your wheels?

Total charges break down like this:

Wheels:
Sandblasting: $20 each
Powdercoating: $35 each

Diff: $15

So $235 for 4 wheels cleaned & 'coated, plus the diff cover

Got it done at Ultimate Coatings up here in Fort Collins - QUICK service and the diff came out great, so I'm expecting good things with the wheels.

What happened to the BAMBI avatar? that was one of my favorites on this board!

LOL. Hey gotta switch it up now and again. I can put Bambi back on one of these days. I'll save it for hunting season.

That might be cool. I don't think I've ever seen a powder coated gun. Wouldn't it make it heavier? Guns? Guns always go with trucks! I'm going to be inheriting four long guns here pretty soon. I guess I am going to have to buck up and go buy a gun cabinet or something.
