agreed. change it. there seem to be a number of threads lately on wondering if they should do an oil change??? have i missed something that said we dont need to change it as often anymore?
Good god man! Change your oil I hope you mean 5,000 miles not 51,000 miles!! I work at an auto center and I had a lady come in that had 35,000 miles on her oil and air filter and tires (non rotated).... hour and a half later I got her running again! =D
i change mine every 3,000 miles and rotate my own tires.....F150...i used to have a saturn when i was young pup...and i never changed my oil until 50 plus thousand miles, and i burned out my engine,,,so lilttle advice change it!!!!
Regular oil is recommended to be changed every 3,000 miles, but with all the hwy driving everyone does, it is suggested to change it out at 5,000 instead.
Synthetic oil can easily last 5,000 miles, most go about 10K miles, and now they have a synthetic that's supposed to last 15K miles. IF the oil it self would last that long, I'd still want to change the filter half way through.
My buddy didn't change his oil in his chebby for 22K miles, and I told him he was an idiot!
well i asked that alil earlier and the guys tell me to run motorcraft synthetic blend... I'm planning on trying that and then working my way up to mobil 1 full synthetic... I've also found out that the fellas like the motorcraft filters too ... I hope this helps!! =D
Either Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1 5w20 synthetics. The Pennzoil was buy 1 get one free at one of the national chains last month so I bought up a few years worth.
few years worth holy cow... might as well just buy a 55 gallon drum! buy one get one free of that would be a sweet deal! =P
I hit up about four of the shops around here and cleaned them out of the 5w20. I used to go with the Mobil 1, but for half the cost I was more than willing to switch to the Pennzoil. To tell you the truth, there's little difference between the major brands as there is no mystery to hydrocarbon chemistry.
