I am almost sure that I have a turbo surge problem, but everyone says that it happens under a load. I am getting it just excelerating from 50mph to 60mph at only 2000 rpms. Does that sound right! I have a D-P tuner and it does this in all setting but it does ot do it in stock.
I was able to EASILY experience surge while accelerating from about 55-70 MPH. It's very possible that you are experiencing the same thing. Just accelerating to pass on a 2-lane while empty was enough to do it.
I am embaressed to say that i do not have my boost gauge hooked up yet, the hose was to short and I have not bought a longer one yet. What mine is doing does not appear to be the same as the video. The sound of mine is more of a fast flutter, instead of the spaced out chuffa, chuffa sound. Will your RPM's drop as well, mine just seems to hit a wall and no more power.

Ch ch ch ch ch (very fast) is surge. Sounds like you have it. I just put in the ATS shroud before our 4k mile TT tow. It works great. High ambient temps, 6% grades, strong cross/head winds and all. No surge.

What kind of outfit sells that POS? I have at least 10' extra with mine that is coiled in a circle. You have surge, and it is costing power and perhaps damaging the turbo depending on your foot. I am not sure an ATS will fit a TN and why bother with another Garret when upgrading? I am probably out of my league here so hopefully someone will chime in. This is my understanding of the situation at present.
I am not sure I am getting surge. Last summer was towing 9K TT up a pretty steep grade and it downshifted to third and the RPM's were pretty high (2500 or so) and the engine started acting like you were peddling the throttle. zoom - zoom - zoom. I took my foot out of it to about 2000 and it went away. Is that surge or something else? It has only done it once.
