Buzzing
Hey guys. Wierd problem monday. A buzzer noise( best description i can think of) sounded like it was coming somewhere w/in the dash. Just started on my drive home from work. Would buzz awhile, back off a while then buzz. Went to gym about an hour. Cranked up and there was the "buzzer". Put foot on brake to shift and buzz stopped. Released brake w/o shifting and buzz stopped. Tapped brake many times and the pattern was the same,pedal pressed, no buzz, pedal released,buzz. Drove the 9 miles home and it just faded away . No buzz yesterday or today. No idiot lights on. Brake function feels normal. Not the same noise when your seatbelt is off. Sounded like and electronic buzz, not mechanical. The buzz responded only to brake pedal movment, not rpms or speed
FOr those that remember the old game "operation". The buzz I heard reminded me of when you touch the metal surrounding the piece you where trying to remove.

Just a possible sugestion, but it could be the Brake switch modual thats located on the brake pedal arm. I think our trucks have it.....I had one go bad once and all it does is when you put pressure on the brake pedal it completes the circuit and lights up the brake lights. Try this, if you can find it see if you can hear the buzzing and see if its comeing from that modual. Also you could unplug it and see if that stops the buzzing, if its that modual its easy to replace and I think if you order it from Ford its about $11. Thats just a sugestion since you say its related to pressing the brake pedal, you may want to have the dealer just check it out if you still have a factory warranty.
