Interesting Steering
I bought a 1973 F-250 High boy and im in shock about the steering in this beast. It has a normal looking steering box but where the pitman arm would just drop down and go to the steering rods it goes through the frame to a hydralic looking pump with a shaft going to the spindal. Then the hydraulic lines run to a steering stablizer! Wut the heck is this! Im thinking the front axle is a 44 HD. Its very interesting and when its sitting there and i turn the wheel a little i have a lot of play on that pitman arm to that other pump. Where could i find parts?

Actually its a pretty good steering setup if its working right. You get tons of power to turn the tires from that big ram but there are so many moving parts that a little wear here and a little there really add up to one sloppy steering. One big problem is the little u-joint on the steering shaft.
