well I just got back into town and my chip was waiting for me(from motorhaven.com) ... all was well until I attempted to insert the chip in the ECU .... it still sticks out 1/4" - 3/8" ... I don't see any obstructions .... it's too late to call them now ... has anyone else had this problem ... I have a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac (Job 2)(JXV3 computer code).:-( :-(
I don't know if your explorer is the same as my supperduty, but my chip sticks out of the end of my ECU about 1/4 in. You have to use a piece of elect. tape to keep it in place. It works great. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
It should not hit anything, unlike the Superchips which sticks out over an inch. Unfortunately, the Diablo design is as close as you can come to a completely enclosed module (the Diablo module is in the computer box, the connector sticks out about 1/8th.
