I am having a real hard time with my truck 88 351 EFI.I have rebuilt this thing and everything is new,just about everything was bad,and I still can't get it to run right.One day it won't idle the next it want run on the top,sometimes it won't run at all.I don't have acdcess to a computer analizer and a scan tool doesn't give me any thing.At what point do you blame the computer and how can you ever tell?Ron

check wire harness from brake booster area to tfi module they fill up with water and strange things happen

Thanks pro,I have had to rewire in the engine compartment due to a fire I had this winter.Don't really know how it started but it burned just about everything in the engine harness.Enough was left to splice from around the brake booster to the various components on the engine.It was quite easy to rewire but time consuming.One problem that I did have was the cluster of the red power wires and the black/white signal wires.I initially wired to each component individually and had problems especially with the fuel relay.I couldn't get it to work until I junctioned all the reds together.Funny thing is that as I was rewiring I would check and see if I was getting power to each component and actually running the engine.There was a point where I had three of the reds not connected and the engine and fuel system worked fine ,at least I thought,once I connected the last three to the air solenoids I had problems.Maybe I don't have puter problems but I have traced every wire in the engine compartment that goes to the engine and have found no problems as far as connections and continuity is concerned.When I get it to run it just refuses to run right,very rich and just about no idle or low end performance at all.The engine is new/rebuilt and sound and the only coponents that I haven't changed is the throttle air valve and the air solenoids.MAPP,EGR,MASS AIR,COOLANT TEMP,Throttle pos and coil are all new.Sorry to be long winded but this is getting real old and I really need some help.Thank You,Ron

are you running a motorcraft TFI mod or aftermarkrt. It timing set to 10-14 w/ spout disconnected? let me know

Pro,Yea my TFI module is stock and my timing is set a 10 degrees with the spout disconnected.Ron

NE computer codes? check the block ground for the o2 sensor(orange back of engine)

Pro,I have that wire grounded.I don't understand the "NE computer codes".What do you think about an under the hood wiring harness?Can I use one out of a Bronco as long as it has a 302 or 351.Ford doesn't make this harness anymore so it will have to be salvage.Thanks Ron
