Yup, flange at manifold are the same. I know when i did my swap, I used the up-pipes and the y-pipe off the 02 setup. Since they were already together.
John311t i am doing the same..only with an 01..i got IC pipes and all..as long as i can hook the up pipes up with my old flange..i got all new bolts..so im all set there..thanks for help

The intercooler pipes are the same. While you got the spider off, cut that stupid AIH element off. I used a cut off wheel and just the element right off. Cheapest way possible and it dont look bad. The up-pipes will hook up fine. Start spraying the bolts on the up-pipe to manifold with pb blaster or favorite rust breaker NOW. On mine the nuts came off, but the bolt was rusted into the manifold, it took 2 hours to get the bolts out. Tried everything then took an air hammer to hit them out. I didnt have time to spray it down with rust breaker since my turbo was about ready to explode(wheel hitten the housing bad). The intake manifold on the passengers side after you loosen all the bolts and you get to the one that wont loosen up all the way since the HPOP is in the way, just loosen it to the point when it just touches the hpop and slide the manifold back, the manifold is notched so that you can slide it out backwards. Also get some new ped and turbo o rings, and change the donuts on the up-pipes while they are out, since they are cheap anyways. If you get lost let me know.
Like solid said. Everything above the exhaust manifold needs to be from the 01. The y-pipe where it bolts to the turbo needs to be off the 01.

thanks john..I got all new bolts and donuts for the up pipes..I got the stock turbo and I'm putting in the wicked wheel..I have the pedestal.. installing the EBPV repair kit..was told it didn't leak but went a head and got the kit any ways..all new O-rings for the turbo and pedestal..for the AIH I got the delete plug and drilled it for a boost gauge..new intake plenums and I got a set of bob's IC boots..I think I'm all set.just hope things go right so that I can install this weekend..I was forced to buy a back up rig for cases like this..(a damn Chevy pick up )my turbo has a lot of in and out play..not hitting yet..but very low on boost and power right now..I parked it 2 weeks ago..i miss her bad..
are the early 99's the same as the 99.5 and up??thanks guys..i think i have every thing i need to up grade my turbo.i hope it will be this weekend
I did mine 2 weeks ago, have a lot of ratchet extentions on hand.(and prayer) The only way I got the y manifold back on the turbo was to put it on before placing the turbo on the pedistal, then fingering the pass. side up-pipe in the outlet. Put the flanges with the new doughnuts on first but don't tighten. This was probably the hardest job I did on this truck , there were times I did'nt realize I could say so many words in one breath. Needless to say, I hope it don't need done again anytime soon. Hope it goes well for you.

You may want to think about getting the new up pipes with the bellows. I did mine last weekend (E-350, easy) and I was surprised how bad the stock ones leaked. In my opinion the donut gasket is a horrible design and since you are already in there, you might as well fix it right.
thanks for the tips guy's..I wish I could get bellows and I may do so later on..but cash flow wont let me right now..
question for you guy's..where is the best place to get the boost reading from??..I'm in the map line now.. my Over boost Annihilator from Dennis is on the way. with all the parts out I can drill and tap where ever is best..i have the aih plug i was going to tap..but heard pedestal would be better..is this place a different reading from a map line??
also..does any one have the torque specs for the pedestal and turbo bolts?? thanks a lot guy's
