new problem arouse last night,tooling down the road at 70 cruise locked in, than the speedo drops to zero the abs light came on the trans o/d light started flashing.i pull over the truck was running fine just the above things so i decide i will "limp" home,about half a mile down the road the speedo kicked on trans went into over drive crusise worked acain everything but the abs light(it was out on next start),got home no futher problems.on the way to work today same deal for about 15 sec than every thing was fine.i,m thinking vss?

Mine was acting up also but I never saw the speedo drop. But went into limp after a few minutes each time I drove it. Finally cured it by pulling the speedo cluster and reinstalling. It must have been the plug on the back. I changed several other things before I tried it. I finally figured out that when it went to limp I could hit one of the two speedo buttons, reset and select, and it would imediately correct it.
I was told by the dealer that the vss signal comes into the speedo first and then the speedo sends a signal to the computor.
I would try the vss first though. Because the speedo dropped to zero makes me suspect it first.
