98 mountaineer keyless entry and keyless remote does not work
Hi everyone,
My 98 mountaineer has lost all function with the keyless entry and keyless remote controls. Also, when I press any number on the keyless entry, the keypad does not light up. I take it that i have lost power to the keyless system in some way. I have checked the fuses and they all seem fine. Where is the keyless entry module? and how can i determine if it is broken? I plan on looking for bad wires in the driver side door in the morning. Any help would be great.

Today I took apart the drivers side door and checked all the wires to the key pad on my keyless entry. I found that one of the wires was pinched a bit, so I cut the fully black wire and found that there was no copper in the tube. The wire was completly an empty tube. I have no clue what that means. Since the wire is black, I guess that it is a ground for the keypad. Does anyone know what wire the completly black wire to the keypad is? Im kinda stuck right now, dont know what to do.
