Elecric windows
I just acquired some cable drive window motors from a 2000 Ford Contour and was wondering if there would be a way of using them for my 56 panel. I'm not sure if I'd be able to straighten the tracking bar because they are for curved glass or if it would be easier to make a new track bar for the straight glass for the 56, Has anyone done this . John

I'm not familiar with the ones you have. I used universal aftermarket units in my 56. Maybe you can modify the original glass carrier from the mechanical regulators to work with the electric units you have? If not ones like I used are not expensive, and the work involved to adapt the other ones may not be worth it. There are pix of my install in my making changes gallery. Hint: it's much easier to work on the window regulator if you remove the door and lay it face down on a padded table first. That way you do not have to fight gravity with the window glass.

Hi AX, I was thinking originally of using the unit you have but was hoping I might be able to save a few bucks with these units I have, never hurts to think but often costs more sometimes.
