94 F350

I might have chance to buy a really nice 94 F350. I really want a PSD but have had trouble finding a nive one I can afford. How does the 94 diesel conpare to the PSD? Is it a good engine and reliable? I will pull around 10-12000 pounds when I do pull, can it handle that?

Thanks

It is a turbo with 97,000 original miles, rebuilt transmission, dually, but I'm not sure about rear axle ratio--probably 4:10? It is an automatic with trailer brakes. It looks to be well taken care of.

Every factory diesel/dually I've seen in those years had 4.10 rear. That may not be entirely accurate, but that's my experience. I have one and the dealership I was at where I bought mine used had a truck just as you describe, it was 4.10 LS. Anyhow- You should'nt have too much trouble pulling that. The only thing I would recommend is hauling that much weight is use a gooseneck, or a heavy duty trailer that can handle most of the weight. You won't squat your dually, but you can a lot of weight off the front end, making it dangerous to tow down the road, especially if it's wet.

Tha asking price is $8000. Is that a fair price? I was going to offer $7000 cash.

$8k a little high IMO, but prolly not a bad deal since the low miles. If you could get it for $7k I think that is fair. I got my 96 PSD crew cab dually auto with a little over 200K for 5900.00
