Hey Everyone...
I've got a 1977 Ford F150 with, what seems to be, a major transmission problem. It's an automatic C6 that will not engage into D, 2, or 1. If I put it into R, it goes just fine. No hesitation, no problems at all. But when I put it into D, it seems like the clutch won't grab. I have changed the fluid twice, and replace the valve body. The fluid level is right on the money, and clean. I've heard that it is either the internal clutches, or my torque converter might be bad... Any ideas?
That's what I thought. Would you suggest having it rebuilt... or ordering a new one and just do a swap? I wanted to put in a shift kit either way, and it seems cheaper to do a swap.
