I've got a 1978 Bronco. About a month ago had the breaks, front and back, completely rebuilt at Meineke. All new parts, except a master cylinder. Break job cost over $1,400. I noticed the minute that I got in the truck to drive out of the Meineke parking lot that the break pedal was going all the way to the floor and I didn't have much stopping power. I immediately told the manager. He said just to give them a few days to "break in" and the pedal would work fine. A month passed. No better. I finally took it back to Meineke yesterday. He looked at it and said my master cylinder was gone and they would replace it for $160.00. I told him the master cylinder must of needed replacing when they worked on it before because the breaks were barely working when I drove it away and they said not to worry about it the breaks would work fine once they got wore in. I know how to put master cylinders on so I left, got about a mile down the road when the back left tire almost came completely off the axle. I called AAA, they towed it back to Meineke. The guy there said my lug nuts had came undone and two of them were stripped. He tighted them back up and I left. I barely made it home because I had no breaks. I got a master cylinder, bled in, put it on, and then bled the lines. Still no breaks. The pedal goes all the way to the floor. I am now awaiting a tow truck to take it back down to Meineke. I know they'll say I put the master cylinder on wrong, but my buddy and I did it, and did it right. This Meineke is terrible. If you're ever passing through Vancouver, Washington and your breaks go out stay away from the Meineke on east 4th Plain. I might go ahead and have it hauled to Les Schwab and tell them to reverse the charges to Meineke! They also never apologized for my tire almost coming off the axle. I should take it back to Meineke, but I don't trust them to fix it right.

this is why meineki will never recieve any business from me or anyone i know. that campany are a bunch of crooks. they are way over priced. do you realize doing a complete brake job on your 78 should cost no more then $500 including labor. you got took to the cleaners big time man. i suggest finding a different shop or learn to fix these type of things yourself.

The breaks went out right in front of Meineke and that's why I took it there. I usually work on brakes myself or take it to Les Schwab. I just didn't fall off the turnip truck.
