New chip Question
I ordered (from you) and installed my Diablo chip about a month ago. Wow...sure made a difference. Been having fun with it....now starting to tame it down a little. Should I have left my lights on and drained the current left in the system? Should I still do it? It only took me about 30 minutes to install, so the battery was not un-connected very long. I was wondering because it feels like it still could shift a little firmer. I thot that maybe draining the current that my truck would "re-learn" it's driving ways again and maybe the shifting would get firmer. What do you think? I modified the intake about 4 weeks before I put the chip in, without disconnecting the battery.
Also, I'm due to get a new radiator from Ford on their replacement program. Should I remove the chip before I take it in? The radiator is part of a Ford radiator recall program and I get everything for free. I'm worried about jeopardizing my free radiator if they find they chip. Should I remove it before the replacement?
Thanks,
DC Larson

No. Unplugging your computer from the truck should have reset it.

We can certainly make the shift firmer, but is this something you really want to do? It's a trade-off between a faster, firmer shift and one too fast (ie, uncomfortable.). If the computer ever gets sluggish (because it learns) just disconnect the battery and turn on the headlight switch for a few minutes. If you're getting this often, try a higher (93) octane fuel.

No, don't worry about it. Only if they need to read codes from the computer should you be concerned.
