Fuel filter oops

I was replacing my fuel filter for my 98 f 150 last night and got a little impatient with the those fuel line connectors. I got the back side off easy enough but when it came to the front side pulled and wiggled to hard and broke the fuel line off at the connector.

my plan is to go to the auto parts store tomorrow and get a new line with the connector attached

not being a mechanical guy could sure use some advise and perhaps guidance in the right direction

You will find they don't sell the part, there have been many threads on this. Did you break the line running to the tank or to the engine? Dorman makes a repair kit for the lines but its way to pricey about 400.00. the new line runs 160.00 at the dealer.

Or a local salvage yard and get one off of a wrecked truck.
