Yes there are two seperate wires going to the rear. The reason there are two wires is, the part of the bulb that is the brake light in the rear, is also the turnsignal bulb. This part of the bulb has double duty as the brake and the turn light. What combines the turn flasher signal and the brake signal power from the brake switch is the turnsignal switch.

If the turnsignal switch is in the center position, then the brake signal is put on both rear wires. If the turnsignal switch is moved to the left, the the turnsignal switch puts the left brake wire onto the turnsignal flasher, but it leaves the brake signal on the right rear wire. It does the opposite if the switch is moved to the right.

I don't have a 70 schematic. You will also have to figure out what year column you have.

This wiring is not correct. There are two seperate wires going to the rear.

Here's a schematic for a 71 car. The colors may be the same.

I have the 1968 Ford Truck Diagrams and the colors are LT Yellow and RT Green for the rear.

If it is wired like the 68 I can post a link to any of the 100+ pages.
I would have to scan them in.

Here is a link to the 1968 Truck Lamp wiring:

1967-72 F100/350's use the same neutral switch and stoplight switch, but the turn signal switch is different. 1967/68, early 1969 uses one type. Late 1969, 1970/72 uses another.

Since the column has been changed, here's one way to ID it:

All 1967/72 turn signal switches have Ford ID numbers on them.

C5TA-13341-B or C9TA-13341-A = 1967/68, early 1969

D0TA-13341-A = late 1969, 70/72
