you need to change filter and drain pan or a fluid flush will not help as much.

That's what I intend to do but I need to know which trans cooling line on the radiator to connect to to flush the trans. Is it the top or bottom.

Remove both from the radiator and put extension hoses over them (plastic tubing will do) hold both hoses in a recovery container while you have someone start the engine for a brief period. You will find out which one.

If the truck has set for awhile then do the pan removal and filter change before you do the above test in order to get the max fluid you can from the pan. If you do the pan removal shortly after the engine has run then tranny fluid will rain down on you the whole time you are trying to get the pan off and back on and while you are trying not to make a mess it will make a mess for you.

Do a goog search on 'transmission fluid change' and learn how and why and how often from many sources.

I went to this website http://www.popularmechanics.com/how_...e/1272521.html
and it was very helpful as a matter of fact I followed their instructions and all went real smooth and not much of a mess.I installed a drain plug on my pan about 5 years ago so I didn't make a mess when dropping the trans pan.By using this method I was able to drain about 11qts.Now to do the wifes car.
