I have a 1998 Eddie Bauer Expedition 5.4 3.73 gear, Can someone give me some advice on which chip to buy. I am looking to buy a 6500lb. camper. I have heard that the chip not only gives more power, but also helps the tranny?......HELP...to many different brands.
Either the Diablo or the Superchips will work well for your application.
The Diablo tends to have more agreesive tuning so the availability of good quality gas is a consideration. Or you can get the Diablo Delta which will let you switch to stock settings if good fuel isn't available.
Either brand requires premium octane gas. If you're in California, Superchips is CARB certified whereas Diablo is not.
The Hypertech is plug and play, but only tunes at wide open throttle. The Jet, is the worst of all worlds, its not plug and play, and only tunes at wide open throttle.
Diablo and Superchips both tune at all throttle positions.
