cooling fan, push or pull ?

Does the cooling fan supposed to push or pull the air through the radiator.?

It is made to pull.

For electric fans, you can get pushers but they are not as efficient as a puller, plus they obstruct air flow when they're not on, resulting in quicker heat build-up.

It depends if the fan is ahead or or behind the radiator. Those behind a radiator help pull air through, those in front help push air back through a radiator. At speed fans are rarely even needed since air pressure is enough to fed air through a radiator from front to back.
