Thanks Dennis. What does Ranger Knit mean? I have Explorer badging on the truck. Is there any way to find out what exterior trim it is supposed to have on it? If it had any it was removed when it was painted.
That's all the 1973/79 Ford Light Duty Truck Parts Catalog / 1976 F Series Trim Section says.
A 1976 Ranger will have upper body side mouldings with rubber inserts, and lower body side ribbed mouldings with black paint between the ribs, and wheel opening mouldings.

Thanks NumberDummy. Is the moulding the same on the Explorer. I have the emblem on the hood that says 'Explorer' and the badge on the glove box and bed sides. What trim is on the tailgate? Sorry for so many questions, I'm trying to decide how I want to restore the truck. Thanks again for the help.
Hmm, well since it's an Explorer, the side trim is different than the Rangers. No lower trim at all, no tailgate trim, no black vinyl (rubber) inserts in upper mouldings. The upper mouldings have painted black inserts.
