Curious...Currently I have the stock 275/70/18 (32" tall)tires on the 5 spoke 18x8 optional stockers. I like a more narrow tire with a taller height. Anyone have any experience with running 305/70/18's (35" tall) - I'm looking at the Dick Cepeks or similar. I don't want a lift kit (yet). My thinking is that these should be fine as far as clearance is concerned. I'm not worried about the engine having any probs turning them as I have the 4:30 rear
I've posted a similar thread on F150 online and heard from some folks, but wanted to get any more prespective that may be out there.
Thanks for any input...
You would have no problems putting those tires on your truck. 305/70R18 is equal to a 35X12.50R18. I have Pro Comp Xtreme A/T (which is pretty much a hybrid tire like the Cepeks) 35X12.50R18 on my factory wheels and they are working out excellent. Cepek and Pro Comp are both owned/manufactured by Cooper Tire, so I think you would be happy with them.
If you are looking for somthing narrower than a 12.50, then you might want to look at Toyo Open Country A/T. It is now offered in a 285/75R18, which would be about a 35X11.50R18.
Are your factory wheels 7.5 wide. I have a 1999 SD and just added 2 1/2 level kit on the front and 2 in spring in the back. I was looking to go to 35X12.50R16, but my wheels are 7.5. I was thinking I had to go to 8 in wide. Will the 7.5 work??
Hey PowerStroke HD...The tires I was thinking of are the Mud Country. I really don't do much highway driving with the truck and with the mud, snow here in west Michigan these seem pretty good..

Yea I can understand that. I spilt my driving time between SE (City) and S Central (Rural) MI. So I can understand your tire needs. I also needed the good/quite highway ride, so thats why I went with the ProComp Xtreme A/T's. They were a good compromise between a A/T and a M/T.
Since you are looking for somthing along the lines of the Mud Country, you may want to give the ProComp Xtreme M/T a look over. They now also offer it in the 305/70R18. My landscaper from NE IN has a set of them (37X12.50R18) on his truck and he says they are working out great compared to the stock Conti's. At anyrate, the 305's will fit the wheels and the truck perfect. You will be happy you did it.
