parts needed

I need both of the fender support rod brackets that attach to the front of the fenders that hold the ends of the alignment rods that run to the firewall (1953-56). Anyone have some extras?

I can make some if necessary. I'd like to get the polished SS ones from MF but they are pretty pricey for such a small part.

Hey AXracer. I have an old parts truck F-250 that has them on it. They are pretty rusty and crusty. If you thank you want them let me know and I'll go out and try to get them off. Shopman

None here, they were missing from my truck when I bought it, so I'll have to use the ones from the parts truck myself. Hope someone finds some for you soon.

If all else fails, I saw a used pair sitting on the counter at Sam's Vintage Ford in Denver. But Bob's f100 may have some used as well.

Thanks awhile, if I can't come up with some soon I'll just have to bite the bullet on the SS ones, I need to start reassembling Gracie soon, I want to tow the trailer to NY and OH the third week in July.

AX, I once read someplace that many parts could be made from hockey pucks. Please don't get ticked at me, I'm just trying to have a little fun. LOL, Seriously, the new are sorta pricey, could a guy not make a pair from SS if he fold the sheet first. I did see a pair made from a 4" length of angle and cut at angle to allow the rod to come into the hole rather than a slot ( made to avoid a small bend at the small of the rod slot). Did not look bad at all, wish I had the nikon that day, but I think you get the idea.

AX, I'd make my own. It's really easy especially with a welder handy. Shouldn't take long to make a set, or at least until a pair show up. I'd like to make a set just to be different and make them from SS and polish them. I got mine on ebay because my truck didn't come with them. As for the rods, I made those myself from aluminum rod. Good luck.

I have the rods, I picked them up on ebay. I will probably order the SS rods to go with the polished SS inner fender panels. I just have a hard time paying more for the rods and fittings than the inner fenders, my miserly ways coming out. If I can't find some I guess I'll make something temporary just so I can align the front end reasonably well.

Ax, I was recently given a 55 in pieces, but I have had a really full plate lately and have not had time to go get it. I plan to get it next saturday. If the rod brackets are on there, and i'm pretty sure they are, I'll pm you, if you still need them by then.. Jim
