Has anybody ever dealt with the Auto Recyclers of Kansas in Wichita they seem kinda shisty to me just wondering if any of you had some expirences to share. I am looking for a 86-88 Toyota rear-end that is 8" 4.30 Gears 2 Pinion. They have it for $200 everyone else is $500.
If that's the one I'm thinking of (around McArthur and Hydrualic) I have dealt with them before and am very happy, we bought a tranny from them and it turned out to be bad, I called them and they said as soon as they got another one pulled they would bring it by, about 1/2 hour later they showed up with a good tranny no questions asked.
I have no history with them that I can remember but I have seen prices that very as much as that. Sometimes as much as that depending on who you talk to that day and how the day is going for them at the same salvage yard.
Then again the old saying buyer beware always applies.
Thanks for the response fellas I believe we will be going with them I will probably pick it up on monday and hopefully install it the same day but you never know with a toyota those japaneese have a hellova since of humor.
Well I went with them and I must say I was very happy with the part it came with the housing and all including the brakes the dust covers were tore up real bad no biggie though i just swapped out the axels from the other rearend. Installed it and everything worked perfectly right gear ratio and all. So to anyone looking for a salvage yard Auto Recyclers of Kansas on McAurthur gets a thumbs up from me! Like I said b4 other salvage yards wanted $500 for just the gears and after a little research and help from the GAD forum I have found a locker for $500 so guess what is going in the spare housing!
Thanks again guys for all you input and sorry I haven't been posting very much.
