Day time running Lights ?

This may be a dumb post but.

I was reading post about door dinger and said I leave lights on because people like on pull out in front of my 2 mile long white truck.

It got me thinking

While back I read couple posts of daytime running light on the 97 down truck .The ones problem was a relay . Both were from Canada is it a northern thing or what . I know its no problem to add driving lights or use/ wire the head lights to come on at start but .

I had 2 96 EB a F150 and a Bronco and neither had the light thing . I did wire my head light switch wrong once and the markers would come on with key.

Was it an opition somewhere or what ? Just a stupid question

No I don't think they started the daytime running lights in these trucks until the new body style in 1997, and even then I think it was just the parking lights. I guess i never really paid attention. You see so many cars now days with them on I just quit paying attention.
Standard Motor products used to have a kit available to convert an older vehicle into having the low power running lights like newer vehicles have. might be a option.

any of the 92 -96 trucks sold in canada would have them.

I think it is funny how all the Chevys that I see around town with daytime running lights ALL have one burned out! Not too useful!

i personally hate them.

it is a surefire way to have me slow down if they are behind me.

only thing worse is rice racers with all the lights on inluding the fogs on a sunny day.

idiots.

That is mature and sensible. GROW UP!!!

It's not like they have a choice in the matter...the lights are on. Deal with your anger.

Do ya have any idea how thous lights will blind a trucker in his mirrors. Even in the day light. They are a pain in the rear as well as more dangerous than good. If ya got to have all them crutches to keep from getting hit than maybe ya need ta go to driving school.

I don't really have a big feeling one way or another on the subject. I can see how they can make a vehicle more visible but most vehicles I have driven with them have a button or a switch you can turn them off with at least until you start the vehicle up again. can see how super bright running lights can be quite distracting to have in your rearview mirror too. Of course the people with the super bright blue bulbs are the ones who are always ten inches off my bumper with their high beams on at night but that is just the way my life goes.
I did not know that 92-96 had them in canada. I guess you learn something new everyday.

The too-bright lights or nuking the ad?

One is a pain in the eyes

The other is the same rules for everyone.

But congrats on owning/operating your own business, that's a hard job of itself.

The too bright lights. I admit, I did not read the rules and regulations. Now, how can we get this even more off topic? Need to mow my lawn today, does anyone object to the burning of brush in town?

LOL that's funny! Maybe I'm frustrated by the size of my yard. Maybe I have lawn envy. Maybe I'm glad that it only takes 20-30 minutes to mow and less than a tank of gas. Yes, yes I'm glad of that.

Exercise is one of the best stress reducers, too. Get R Done.
