front end squat..

my 90 F250 has a problem with the front wheels being bowed in at the top much like this /--\ is this an alignment problem? or are my springs sagged? the right front wheel is bent in further at the top than the front left.. and the truck sags more on the right front side.. I jacked it up and pulled on the wheels to check for loose ball joints and they didn't move.. oh almost forgot.. its a 4X4...

What you describe and picture sounds like ball joints. Especially if the truck is 17 years old and they've never been replaced. Their most likely the old sealed type, original equipment from the factory. FYI. Pulling on the ball joints (side to side I'm assuming) will not determine if their bad. You'll need to jack up the front end with the wheels off the ground. Next with a large pry bar place it under the actual tire and pull up on the pry bar to check for ball joint movement (up & down) There should be almost no movement. Good luck!

are the balljoints difficult to replace? i've never really worked on the front end suspension.. other than replacing the radius arm bushings on my old bronco..

Time consuming and you need the tools......ball joint separator......and a big hammer. Older trucks with high mileage are sometimes harder to get apart.....some guys use air tools on them.
Hand tools you can get at the parts stores at no cost.
Wheel, brakes, rotor off and you'll see the upper in front of you.
Bring a buddy and beer!
