1970 timing
i have everything in my truck and have messed with getting it started last night and tonight. Tonight was better, got the sputters...moved the cap around andgot it to start. moved the dist more and got it to smooth out a bit. turned it off, then couldn't get it to fire again. sure by time i was done it was flooded so i will try again tomorrow, but i was wondering the exact degree of advance is used on a 1970 460. i used a 1970 timing chain on a '73 motor. the sticker on the rocker cover says that it originally fired at 14 BTDC. thoughts please.

10 degrees is usually a good starting point, and adjust it from there. be sure your advance is disabled when setting your initial timing just to eliminate possible problems, and be sure to hook it back up before you drive it
