my check engine light came on today and i had thought i would come on sooner. my truck has been chugging and jerking after about an hour of driving for about 2 weeks now the dtc codes i got were p0603 p1211 and p1282
1Powertrain Control Module KAM Test Error
2 Injector Control Pressure Sensor Above / Below Desired
3 Excessive Injection Control Pressure
is this anything to worry about should i take it to the shop?
what do i do?
Most of the time it is just a case where the HPOP cannot keep up with the pressure the tuner is calling for or it is keeping up and just higher than what the PCM is expecting. Set it back to stock and clear the code if it does not return the HPOP system is fine and just cant keep up with the demand of the tuner and I see BIG Oil in the future. If it does return in stock setting we can start walking through the trouble shooting.
well this problem started before i got the programmer. i returned it to stock to see what would happen it was the same. the codes went away but still chuggy. today i changed my oil and oil filter and fuel filter so i hope that will remedy it?
EBPV stands for exhaust back pressure valve. I've actually never had mine apart so I can't help much, but if you do a quick search on ebpv tube or ebp tube, you'll find a few threads detailing how to remove and clean it, probably complete with a few pics.
Hey Tryan I've done mine before, EBPS Tube and sensor is at the front portion of the motor Right infront of the fuel filter housing. If you click in the link below and go to the Folder marked My public shoe Box you will see where it is located. Country
in front of the fuel bowl just be hind the belt over the water pump you will see a sensor with a wire going in to the top and a steel brake line going in the bottom..that is the EBPS..if you look through the passenger side wheel well at the front of the exhaust manifold..you will see that steel brake line going to the sensor...good luck..
The problem is most likely in the HP oil system or fuel delivery...You can look at the IPR o rings & replace without much cost , If they are good, you may want to check the pressure in the rails to the injectors for leaking orings or poppet clearence issues.. Just a few inexpensive tests to try....
