docs have have me on scripts for ten years.......

Got me a new doc now and he has said, "what the heck are you doing on this?"

Oh My Gosh. My life has changed. Took me off Toprol XL. wow what an evil drug unless you need it.

You have seen my "I wanna die side".

Zocor, BELIEVE WHAT THE COMMERCIAL SAYS.ANY PAIN report it. I was in a wheel chair before I told my doc I FU I'm done.

Three days off this med an my wife was saying, "you had better stop, you know how your back is". I a said, " I have not felt this good for years, go to bed "luv"

After three days off this, I feel great. You are not going to chang that. For the first time I don't hurt. I'm sore. Big Freakin dif.

STAY OFF STATINS if you can.

I think we're a drug-crazed nation. We live terribly unhealthy lives and expect the docs to prescribe a few drugs to fix the problems that result. Then a few more drugs to fix the problems those other drugs created. Then a few more...

Don't get me wrong, there are some truly life-saving drugs out there. But man, people need to exercise more, drink more water, eat healthy and get to a healthy weight. You only get one body. You can learn to like healthy food, and if that's what you eat most of the time, then the occasional splurge isn't a big deal. If you want to pop pills, take a multi-vitamin and some extra vitamin C daily.

Okay, it's late, I need to get off the soapbox.

Just think, if the docs cured everyone, they would be out of business...

If I go in a doctors office and notice that he or she has a coffee mug, or a note pad with a pharmicutical (sp?) company on them I don't go to that doctor again. The pharmicutical company's give doctor's a little extra if they prescribe there meds.

I took myself off of statins (Lipitor).

Now I'm just on Clonidine and Atenolol (hyper-tension); oh yea, and beer.

If I lose the weight, I can be off of the meds.

If I lose the weight? Yea! Right!

when i was in my teens i had doc's over dose me with drugs to the point it almost killed me, when i was about to sue them they conviently lost my medical records.

took me 10 years before my stomach stopped hurting me.

Just about 3 years ago i got prescribed to keflex and i almost died. I am reluctant to take any type of medicne anymore.

I've recently been diagnosed with arthritis in my hands.

(I have it in my knees, already!)

The MDs have put me on LARGE doses of Naproxin (Naprosin/Aleve).
That stuff was killing my stomach (and points 'south' of there!)

I also believe that doctors today want everyone to try out these 'wonder' drugs.

Some of them ARE good. Zithromax, for example. It IS a really good antibiotic.

Other than that. . . give me an aspirin and let me go about my way.

I could not move. The pain in my back, hips and legs was beyond belief. I could not sit, lay, walk, shower, get in and out of the truck and much more.

Beta blockers, don't get me started. They were destroying my life. I was suicidal. My new Doc said "stop taking those RIGHT NOW, the side effects are not worth it." They and statins nearly ruined my life.

Don't get me wrong, as my doc said, If the meds are the only answer, take them and deal with the side effects.

Me, they are not worth it!

I was taking Ketoprofen for my arthritis for several yrs. I began having bad aches & pain. I got a physical & found the problem. The pain meds were staying in my liver. I can't take any meds with ibuprofen in them. I have to be careful what meds I take. Ibuprofen is used in many over the counter meds. Many doctors will give you too many meds. I always ask my doc about the side effects of the meds he gives me. Plus you should tell your doc about any vitamins & OTC pills you take. Many OTC meds can cause problems when mixed with prescription pills
