Questions for Ken

I am new to FTE and really getting a lot of good info from it. You seem to "THE MAN" on chip info.

Here is are my questions:

- you can see the mods to my 96 351 Bronco below. Other than the transmision shifts being better, the Hypertech III doesn't seem to do a lot, although I realize that all the mods have each contributed some and overall I am prttey happy with my overall performance gains. Would I be better off with a Diablo or some other chip/module? Would another chip give me more power than the Hypertech? I could always program back to stock and sell the programmer on e-bay if another chip module is better. What is your advice? I have no problem running 92-93 octane, live in NC and don't go over any big mountains very often.

- If I go with a different chip/module other than Hypertech programmer III, is there one that has a switch (in drivers compartment, somewhere else easy to access?)so I can go back to stock setting without tearing down to remove it from the computer? That's one nice thing about the Hypertech Programmer - easy to reprogram back in case it has to go to the Ford dealer.

- Does a B&M shiftPlus Electronic Shift Improver give firmer/better (higher rev) shifts than the "firm shift" selection on the Hypertech Programmer III or similar chip/module like the Diablo?

- If I go with a different chip/module if you recommend one over the Hypertech Programmer III, should I get custom programming with mods I have done so far (see mods at end of e-mail)? Or is the chip/module standard programed performance close enough with my mods.

- If you's got a part number with your recommendation for my application it would be great!

OK, that's a bunch of questions!! Appreciate your patience and response. Thx in advance.

Sorry for the delay, Labor Day week is very busy for us.

Hypertech doesn't retune timing/fuel except at wide open throttle.

Well, both Diablo and Superchips make good all throttle position code. Superchips has far more PCM code for your year than Diablo. If you can give me the code I can let you know what we can do.

You have only shipping to lose because both brands we sell have a money back guarantee. I won't lie and say we're perfect and never given anyone their money back.... however, the vast majority have been very happy!

Yes, the Diablo Delta... assuming we have your PCM code on file. If not, you'd have to send us your computer so we can "read" it and produce a program for you.

Its hard to say. All of them firm up the shift by increasing the line pressure. How much the BM and Hypertech for your year increases it is unknown to me.

How does it drive now?

Questions for Ken

hx Ken.

I'll try to find the computer code and send it to you.

Can I find that anywhere without digging out the computer? I understand it's buried behind the plastic interior drivers side kick panel where the hood release is. Once you take that panel off is the PC hard to get to after that?

Thanks for your help!

It'll be right there behind it and it isn't too difficult to get at or remove.
