I have a 91 F350, while driving the whole truck shut down. I've figured out if I could hold the key to start the truck will run but as soon as I let go of the switch it shuts down. I figured this out by disconnecting the starter at the solenoid and momentarily touching it to start the truck.
I tried swapping out the ignition switch today but it didnt solve the problem. I assume I'm losing something in run mode. Any suggestions on what to check first? I also was checking ground wires today but didnt see anything there. I'll be getting a wiring diagram next to trace out circuits to make sure its getting power for gas and spark.
OK so mystery solved, I replaced the ignition module on the distributor and it fired right up. Why it would run in the start position and not the run position doesnt add up but hey it works and that's all that matters.
