Question :Whats the small pan that sits between the Transmission pan & the oil drain case underneath ? Its has a small -drain slit ,& that's where the drip is coming from.what causes this ???...first time diesel owner...& proud of it !!!
thats the torque converter inspection cover. if it is engine oil it is most likely comming from on of two places. 1st check the engine valley if it has oil in it than most likely something to do with the HPOP (high presure oil pump) fitting o-rings or plug o-ring. 2nd if the valley is dry than theres a good chance it is either the turbo pedestal o-rings or the EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve) actuator on the turbo pedestal. if its trans fluid than it could be the front seal on the trans
on edit: that is if its a 7.3l powerstroke...lol if its not than i have no idea...guess i should have looked at what forum i was in
ps. in the future the year and engine, trans ect. info makes it easier to give accurate info
