ok. I have a 1989 F250 4x4 3/4 ton with a 5.8l fuel injected. Truck has ran great for me ever since i have bought her 4 months ago until recently. 2 weeks ago she blew a fuel relay which was an easy fix, but since then she hasnt ran right. so i went through the usual basic tune up, new spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor button, distributor cap, and fuel filter, but still no luck. She boggs down on take off, backfires like crazy and doesnt want to pull her own weight but if i adjust the timing up she will take off like she was brand new but wont idlle. she will rev up and down a few times and then die when timing is turned up. Being as I am only 17 and just starting to actually learn on my own I am bumfuzzled and dont know whats up. Everybody that i ask tells me something different. Either the timing is too low, injectors are either bad or clogged really bad, vaccum leak, electrical problem, timing chain bad, or bad gas. If someone could possibly help me it would be greatly appreciated.
thank you
samo

I'm about 99% sure that is what it is, I'm putting a new on one tomorrow, so then I shall know for sure and update my topic. Right now I can start the truck without floorboarding it if I take of the vacuum line off of the sensor, and the backfiring magicaly disappeared. The motor runs a little rough without the sensor though.
