Chips for 300/6
I talked with a Diablo Chip representative and he said that I could get a chip for my truck. (94 F-150 with 300-I6) I told him that I did not want to have to run premium fuel as well. he told methat they can program the chip so that I would not have to. Slow the timing is what he said if I recall correctly. What kind of gains can I expect? He told me 15-20 Hp and 60 lbs. I think that that is incredibly high due to the less advanced timing and low grade fuel. What do you guys think? I talked to this gemtleman in person but I can't justify the cost if the gain is too little. I also was curious about the fuel mileage gain. Anybody care to answer my questions?

I'm not sure who you talked to or if you heard them wrong but those numbers are WAY off. No gas chip will give you 60 ft/lbs of torque unless its a boost pulley Ford F150 Lightning program. Its a waste of money to get an 87 octane chip. Sure... we can do a chip for 87 octane but the difference in horsepower will be 5 horse power, if any at all. The only real gain will be improvements in transmission shifting. We've done many 87 octane programs but the vast majority of the time its for a two program chip (Diablo Delta or Superchips flip chip).
