Ordered a 2005 grill conversion off EBAY. Finally got it today and noticed the plastic lip which hold the bottom clips is zip tied tothe bottom piece of honycomb. Just wondering if this is how it was done on others grills that have done this conversion. Tried putting up pics but I'm having issues with that right now.
Okay; pics of grill installed are in my gallery. And yes IEH I know the truck is dirty but life in Alberta is muddy and this Ex was made to play dirty!!
weberr7 the grill cost $310 US; install time was 10min needing a phillips screwdriver for the 4 screws and a flat screwdriver to pop the clips
IEH those mirrors suck and look bad but are a cheap temporary fix till I can swing 08 mirrors
for everyones knowledge I bought the grill off EBAY from mcd29501 --- his price beat everyone else and he was good to deal with even though we had shipping issues with USPS that were not his fault; I'd reccomend you deal with him
That conversion looks Baaaddd...I saw a v10 "X" that was all in black with that grill and it was awesome.. The grill, bull bars and the bumpers were all the same color..That's the first time I thot that I'd like to go back to black..I had both a Yukon and a Suburban that were black, but actually now that I've got the white and gold "X",I've discovered how much less I have to wash it...
Now that I've seen yours,I'm sure I'm getting Toyo's...

I think the zip tie is just for shipping purposes.
I cut mine off and it had no effect whatsoever. See image below....
I haven't noticed any cooling issues with my switch and I've pulled our 6000lb TT around. I got buddies with 05 - 07 V-10's that have the summer stainless grill inserts and pull 5th wheels with no cooling issues so I think a person would be okay with this conversion.
